What We Do
Following the merger of our Galaxy Satellite Services business with the PanAmSat Corporation, Hughes Communications is solely focused on fulfilling an extremely important role within the Hughes Electronics organization. We will continue to seek out and identify new satellite-based business opportunities as we have done in the past, including Galaxy, DIRECTV and American Mobile Satellite Corporation. We are also responsible for the development of additional busines ventures, including the launch of the SPACEWAY global broadband communications system. HCI is a unit of Hughes Electronics Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of General Motors Corp.
